Three Weeks with Lady X by Eloisa James

This year has been a year full of discoveries – in my personal life and in the area of my naughty addiction (romance novels).  While I was away from cyber world, I was still reading - and I read A LOT!  One good find was a book by Eloisa James called Three Weeks with Lady X.  Oh my HOT Tamales!  What a joy was to stumble upon such a jewel.  The writing was superb and the characters were fun and hooked you to the story from the beginning.  So, here is my 411 on Three Weeks with Lady X by Eloisa James.

What I liked about Three Weeks with Lady X by Eloisa James:

  • The writing.  Ms. James has a way with words that is just a pleasure to read.  The story didn’t have awkward pauses nor “what just happened” gaps, it was a quick-fun flow through out.  Once I started reading I really didn’t want to stop.  The conversations where witty and I found myself, literally, laughing out loud.  Just wonderful!
  • The heroine, Lady Xenobia AKA India, has to be one of my favorite heroines.  She was funny, smart, compassionate AND strong.  She knew what she wanted and she would not take a “no” for an answer.
  • Thorn, the hero.  He is just raw and messed up, in need of someone to put him in his place, and he finds that person indeed!  Lady X gives him a run for his money – literally!
  •  The hero’s best friend - Vander.  He was the personification of a gentleman.  Caring, handsome, smart and just dreamy! I can’t wait to read his story.
  •  The correspondence between Thorn and Lady X – Funny!
  •  HGTV meets Regency Novels.  The process of remodeling and the description made me feel like I was reading an episode of Dear Genevieve.  I LOVE HGTV, so adding that element to my naughty addiction, well, I was hooked!
  •  I liked that I read this novel out of order from the other books in the series, and I didn’t feel like I missed something.  It gave me an itch to start reading the other books in the series… I just wish I had the mula aka $$, to buy all the books.

What I didn't like about Three Weeks with Lady X by Eloisa James:

*spoiler alert*
  •  Come on Thorn - India!  Even after Thorn knew that he had feelings for Lady X, he still told her “I’ll sleep with you but I won’t marry you”,   AND Lady X was ok with that.  REALLY?!?! Come on!  Lady X was so strong but in that point, she just gave in.  Well… I guess we all have our weakness. (Thorn is good weakness to have).
  •  What happened to the friendship between Thorn and Vander?  I felt there was some unfinished business there.  Hopefully some of those things will be cleared in Vander’s story.

Favorite Quotes from Three Weeks with Lady X by Eloisa James:
  •  I have too many, so - I just recommend that you read the BOOK!  It’s a fun read!
